They adopt a design that combines a doublet type color-correcting lens with a plano-convex lens, with the convex sides of both lenses facing each other. This makes them ideal for use in upright brightfield microscope systems utilizing standard achromatic objective lenses. They are available in multiple lineups based on magnification, focal length, and field diameter.
